Forget London Fashion Week, September 2012 saw the first of our Student Fashion Shows, held at Gloucestershire College.

GlosCol was transformed into the best fashion venue in The Cotswolds. Both day & night a full house sat and anticipated the fabulous fashion designs to come from local schools, sixth forms, colleges and independent graduates.

Students of all ages had been working hard for months on their designs and hugely enjoyed seeing their creations on the catwalks, competing against other schools to win the cash prizes and personal styling shopping trips generously donated by George Davies, as well as work experiences at both his local Cotswold studios and headquarters in London.

The two shows were hosted at the Cheltenham Campus, 1pm saw the Under 16’s ranging from Primary school children up to Secondary School GCSE level pupils and the 7pm show showcased 6th Form and college students up to independent graduates.

Each show was a sell out with an audience of over 300 at each show, packed full of excited friends, families and supporters all wanting a glimpse into what the next generations are bringing to the creative world of fashion.

The runway models were greeted by a roaring crowd and the panel of judges: Fashion Visionary George Davies, Fashion Designer Emma Trayner, Fashion Journalist Sarah Hayley-Owen,  Hair Stylist Stuart Holmes; and guest Martin Horwood, local MP.

The Student Shows were an amazing success and showcased what amazing talent exists in the county. Thank you to all pupils and students who contributed their designs, and the teachers who’s support made it possible for a staggering 15 schools to take part. And thank you to all who attended – you made this a memorable and exciting event for all who took part. Sarah Clark, our Education Director did a wonderful job of producing the show and we were all thrilled by the end result.
